Hand made in Chulucanas, Peru, a centuries old tradition from this arid part of the country; turning the local clay into beautiful objects.
Hand thrown on a traditional potters wheel, fired in a wood burning kiln and then placed in an open mango leaf pit to be smoked. The black finish is not a glaze, but from the smoking process and the natural reaction of the local clay.
Developed as part of a social enterprise, a world fair trade member, inspired to provide market access for the amazing items being created by the local artisan community.
Each item being slightly unique in finish and size due to their hand made production.
